Orchestra selected to perform at iconic venue as part of concert organized by Distinguished Concerts International New York
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – August 26, 2026 – The Firebird Pops Orchestra will make its Carnegie Hall debut on February 14, 2027, and members of Firebird Vox, the orchestra’s choral division, will join the Firebird Pops for the performance. The concert will bring both instrumentalists and vocalists from the organization to one of the world’s most celebrated concert stages.
The Firebird Pops was selected to perform as part of a concert organized by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY), which presents performance opportunities for musicians and ensembles at renowned venues in New York City and around the world.
The Carnegie Hall appearance marks a major milestone for the Firebird Pops, which was founded by conductor Brendan J. Kenney with a vision of creating high-quality orchestral experiences built around music audiences know and love. Since its founding, the orchestra has performed programs ranging from film scores and popular music to opera and other orchestral favorites, with an emphasis on making live orchestral music exciting and accessible to broad audiences.
“Performing at Carnegie Hall is a milestone we never could have imagined when Firebird began in 2020,” said Kenney. “To have musicians from both the Firebird Pops and Firebird Vox taking that stage together makes it even more meaningful. It’s an extraordinary opportunity for the musicians who have helped build this organization and a tremendous moment for the entire Firebird community..”
Located in Midtown Manhattan, Carnegie Hall has been home to many of the most significant performances and artists in music since opening in 1891. The Firebird Pops performance will take place in the Isaac Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall’s historic main auditorium.
The February performance also represents another step in the continued growth of the Firebird Pops beyond its home communities in Massachusetts. The orchestra has steadily expanded its programming and audiences while creating opportunities for professional musicians to perform ambitious, audience-focused orchestral programs.
“This is a milestone, but it’s also a glimpse of where we want Firebird to go,” Kenney added. “We want to keep creating bigger opportunities for our musicians, reaching new audiences and showing what this orchestra is capable of. Performing at Carnegie Hall gives us an incredible opportunity to do all three.”
