LOCAL TRAFFIC REPORTER AND FILL-IN ANCHOR TO PERFORM ‘THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA’ MEDLEY AT HALLOWEEN-THEMED CONCERT IN WAKEFIELD, MA
WAKEFIELD, Mass. (October 17, 2022) – The Firebird Pops Orchestra, based in Wakefield, Mass., announced the remaining details of their 2022 season on Thursday, including a Halloween-themed concert entitled “Haunted Pops” with Boston 25 News Traffic Reporter and Fill-In Anchor, Catherine Parrotta, headlining with a medley from Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s beloved score from The Phantom of the Opera.
Parrotta, a long-time Phantom fan, has previously been heard performing during newscasts around Independence Day and the winter holidays offering selections such as God Bless America, The Star-Spangled Banner, and O Holy Night on live TV and at local events.
“Since its virtual beginnings during the pandemic, I have so admired the performances of the immensely talented local musicians comprising The Firebird Pops,” says Parrotta. “It has long been a dream of mine to perform selections from The Phantom of the Opera, and I’m ecstatic to have the opportunity to do so with these amazing musicians from our community.”
Firebird Pops conductor and music director, Brendan J. Kenney, will lead the program which will also include an orchestral tone-poem setting of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, also narrated by Parrotta.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Ms. Parrotta for FPO’s Haunted Pops 2022,” said Kenney. “She has won over so many Boston 25 viewers with her talent, and it is a privilege to be able to bring her voice to the Firebird stage.”
“Haunted Pops” will be presented on Saturday, October 29 at 8pm at the Galvin Middle School Auditorium, 525 Main Street, Wakefield, MA.
