Catherine Parrotta is a morning news and traffic anchor at Boston 25 News. She first joined the station as a general assignment reporter in March 2012, and she continues to report on transit topics. Before joining Boston 25, Catherine worked at WGME-TV in Portland, Maine, where she served as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. She is a proud graduate of Emerson College, earning her degree summa cum laude through the college’s honors program.
A Saugus native who still resides on the North Shore with her husband and children, Catherine began singing in her local church choir at the age of six – and never left! She also received professional vocal training through the Handel and Haydn Society’s High School Vocal Apprenticeship Program, an experience that helped deepen her lifelong love of music and performance.
Today, Catherine especially enjoys sharing that love of music with her son and daughter. A longtime admirer of The Phantom of the Opera, she has always dreamed of performing its music onstage. She is thrilled to join the Firebird Pops for this special program to do just that, alongside several other favorites.
