Sandra Piques Eddy is delighted to return to the Firebird Pops this summer after singing in last year’s Holiday Pops at both the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord and the Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA. With over one hundred performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Sandra has sung leading roles across North America, Europe, Japan, New Zealand, and the UK- including Rosina, Dorabella, Isabella, Cenerentola, Charlotte, Cherubino, Poppea and her signature Carmen at companies like Chicago Opera Theatre, Portland Opera, Austin Lyric and twice on tour in Japan under the baton of the legendary Maestro Seiji Ozawa.
Most recently, the Mezzo Soprano appeared with the Boston Lyric Opera as the Widow Birkenfeld in a special 1776 Boston Revolution version of Donizetti’s The Daughter of the Regiment. Earlier this season she debuted at Opera Grand Rapids as Little Buttercup in HMS Pinafore and as Aunt Cecilia March in Little Women at the Boston Conservatory of Music at Berklee, where Sandra is an Associate Professor of Voice. In addition to BoCo, Sandra also holds positions at Longy School of Music as Voice teacher and Director/Creator of the Longy Emerging Artist Project (LEAP); a program specializing in preparing the next generation of opera singers. Sandra is a founding member of Concerts 4 Good, an organization of musicians bringing concerts to those who need it most and serves on the board for Boston Singers Resource.
